Runigrim’s main story takes place 300 years after the Heroes of the Last Crusade defeated the powerful demons known as the Horrors—or so everyone believed. Now, ancient runes have been discovered accumulating dark energy, foreshadowing the possible return of the Horrors.

The Characters

You are given 4 characters from the start so all players can start together right away.

Arwin

A talented young student at the magic academy specializing in runic magic. His parents were scholars there and died during the runic incident, which cast a shadow on his family’s reputation. He was dedicated to uncovering the truth about the incident and, as the most prominent specialist in the field of runic magic, was sent to represent the academy and deliver a message about the rising threats.

Izen

A travelling runic technician who takes jobs around the world repairing old runic devices and has a rare collection of his own. He wields a two-handed sword but prefers to stay out of fights. He agrees to show the group the way to the local capital, while also planning to use their help to take on more dangerous local quests for mutual benefit. However, he later finds his own reasons to join the group for the rest of the journey.

Zelrete

With a rather mysterious past stretching back centuries, Zelrete arrives in the magic academy town to deliver a message about dark energy accumulating in the alleged locations of ancient runes that may be connected to the long-forgotten demons—the Horrors. Eager to prevent their return, Zelrete asks the academy for help delivering the message and finding allies to prevent history from repeating itself.
